UNIQUELY BOUND:
At the heart of PAPERGEMS' existence is the variety and uniqueness of my hand
bound journals, which are my specialty. Whether it is combining hand made
paste papers, imported papers from around the globe or collaging my own
assemblages, each of the PAPERGEMS shown here are as unique as the owner for
whom they were created.
PAPERGEMS has worked with clients around the globe, in virtual and real-time
collaboration, to create spaces ready to help you transform your written
words, images and whims into keepsake heirlooms.
Be it a journal that is:
· accordion fold, Coptic stitched, perfect bound, square, rectangle or
heart-shaped in form.
· bound with precious stones, beach glass, coins, ribbons, wire or something
else you send me.
· created with closures made of whimsical designs.
By blending over a decade of book and journal making experience with a passion
for the written word, I am always spinning my mixed media skills, engaging in
a multitude of journal creations to expand my creative process.
Due to the individual nature of each journal, in paper stocks, binding
methods, closures and other variables, prices must be custom quoted after
consultation. All journals can be custom ordered to your specifications.

CUSTOM DESIGNED PHOTO JOURNAL: Furnessville Summer
PAPERGEMS also creates photo albums. This is a tribute to Summer 2003's
Polaroid Fun! Hand made leaf paper, imported from Thailand, creates this
contrasting cover and Canson black textured paper form the interior. The
Coptic binding is woven with copper wire, Lake Michigan beach glass & Austrian
glass along with other precious jewels from PAPERGEMS' private collection.
Approximately: 4" X 6" or 10.1 cm X 15.2 cm All journal sizes can be
customized and photo journal interior pages can be designed in any color
stock.
CUSTOM JOURNAL: Tomato Red
Made from Japanese linen cover paper, this journal inspires the user to
"Illuminate the senses of your soul," and has signatures sprinkled throughout
in a variety of Japanese white linen paper suitable for writing and Chinese
watercolor paper for drawing and/or painting. Fly-sheets, made
of Chinese gold-flecked, red rice & ivory papers were stitched into the
journal whose Coptic binding was decorated with jewels from PAPERGEMS' private
collection. The butterfly is an original PAPERGEMS' illustration created from
a variety of medium.

CUSTOM JOURNAL: Sweet Sixteen Journal/Scrapbook
Designed for a special birthday this journal was created in vivid pink Canson
paperstock and units of 16's. 16 white interior pages are bound with brass
bolts for easy future additions and the cover is adorned with a mixture of 16
pearls, rose quartz, brass wire and other gems. When closed this journal is 16
inches wide by 9 inches in height. PAPERGEMS custom wrapped this journal for
this teen's special day.
9" X 16" or 22.7 cm X 40.7 cm (closed). All journals can be customized.
