PAPERGEMS: Whimsical, magical
functional paper creations
MAY 2005:
Welcome to PAPERGEMS' musings:
SEEING NEW POSSIBILITIES
Recently, I have been trying to see things in new and different ways so as to
open myself to new possibilities. When I notice new things, change my usual
expectations, be willing to allow old expectations to be wrong and do things in
different ways new possibilities come into view. Just to shake things up, I
change my daily routine, tell myself to notice 3 new things each day, do things
with my non-dominant hand or take a new route to work. By reinforcing new
attitudes, habits and belief systems I am creating new paths of least resistance
which will open doors to new possibilities. I like to use these as jumping-off
points in my journaling, my artwork and my life. I challenge you to
examine your own life, look at your journal, see what habits you might desire to
change, brainstorm how you'll create new habits and see what new possibilities
you can create.
Email me with your results, I would love to be inspired by you!
SEE NO EVIL, HEAR NO EVIL, SPEAK NO EVIL
This Spring's deep cleaning unearthed a set of beads I have been longing to use.
After being hid for seven years, the creation of A Monkey's Address Book gave me the
perfect opportunity with which to attach these whimsical beads. Hand stitching
some of my unique paste-paper allows this Gem to be easily spied across the room
or on a desk. It always delights me to match just the right book to the special
papers & found elements I have in my private stash. Do you have a special
someone for whom I could create an individual
customized book, address book or
journal?
Contact me so we can discuss your journaling
needs.

OPERATION SICK TRAY
By sliding a piece of plexiglass over the top of my daughter's Operation Game, I
created a funky and functional way to serve up some
piping-hot-get-well soup. Handles are created by the game's naturally arching
ends, while the silly man offered an opportunity to discuss where my daughter
was ailing. Humor is the best medicine and this Papergem delivered the giggles.
Do you have some of your own Gems, stashed about your home? I would be happy to
revamp them into a functional
creation Email me so we can
consult about some
creative, heirloom inspirations for you and your family.
BABY SWEET NOTHINGS
Parents, relative and caretakers, of newborns, can pen their coos into one of my
Baby Sweet Nothings Journals. As you watch the babes sleep, jot down your heart's desires for your tiny child. What a delight when baby is grown, to read all
these memorable musings. Baby Sweet Nothings
come with lilac, sage and/or butterscotch colored pouches.
